C14 Life’s Sweet Enough

When you follow Monty Python and always look on the bright side, then life’s sweet enough without sugar.

Until the natropath mentioned it, we had no idea that a defficiency in calcium may arise through excessive sugar consumption.

Funny how the pharmaceutical companies don’t promote reducing your sugar intake when having calcium supplements.

All that extra sugar can quickly negate any gains in calcium.

Are you happy now?

If they can’t give you a script, it seems that medics can’t help you. Whilst medical research has been amazing, there’s also the downside of drug companies who are more focused on profits than people.

Things to be grateful for:
Naturopaths that aren’t treehuggers.
Small business owners that survive on honesty, integrity and customer service.
Service providers that aren’t totally focused on the bottom line.

After the workout at the gym today made a feeble attempt at Borlotti and Sausage soup – not one of our best creations.

C13 Healthy Living

The naturopath reckons we are lacking in protein, and need to boost our intake.

Added to that we have a slight mineral deficiency, which means taking a strange concoction every morning with breakfast.

At least being spared of those revolting mixtures creates a happier start to the day.

A breakfast meeting had a positive result – we’ll know more  tomorrow.

Avoiding all that junk food makes the situation better – the body can handle the times

C12 Roses With A Scent

So many breeds of roses focus on colour. We’re blessed to have a beautiful rose bush with such a gorgeous fragrance.

There’s a clear blue sky today – a sight we haven’t seen for a while.

This morning whilst having breakfast on the deck, we were  visited by a couple of delightful lorakeets that arrived at our birdbath to spend a few joyful minutes having a splash and a quick wash.

How could anyone not be happy experiencing such special moments in a day?

Ever noticed how the fear of something is bigger than the thing itself. Such is the case with housework – after a springclean the house looks and smells so much

It’s great to sit on the Spend time in meditation

C11 Not Enough Laughs

Is it possible to ever have too many laughs?

They say that most people do not have enough laughter each day.

We’re focusing on the positive things in life. That may mean no access to TV “news”, the local newspapers, radio, and other channels of communication.

Three new things to be grateful for today:
1. Waking up to a beautiful morning.
2. Being able to select farm fresh vegetables from the local markets instead of having to support Coals or Wallies supermarkets.
3.Having a spoonful of homegrown honey.

One positive thing that’s happened today is being able to mow the lawn in between showers

That in itself makes up for a form of exercise.

Keep forgetting to perform a random act of Kindness!!

C10 – A Picture Of Happiness

What does a picture of happiness look like? For many it’s a great smile, or a sumptuous meal

We’re grateful for our hearing and our eyesight.

For being able to help other people.

Today has been spent negotiating deals with clients that we thought had lost interest.

Skyped George and found he’s recovering from heart surgery

C09 – For The First Time

When’s the last time you did something for the first time?

As the years go by it seems that we have less opportunity to do new things because we’ve already done them.

Today we were filming a couple of videos to add to the landing page on one of our websites.

Not being a dog lover, it was quite a surprise to be picking up a minature poodle!

Woke early to write some story board scripts. Somehow you can get more done with self imposed deadlines.

The gym session this afternoon was a challenge. So was a phone call from a bookkeeper who may /not be interested in buying a bookkeeping business.

As things transpired we believe they were tyre kickers.

C08 A Hamlet Moment

There was a series of adverts in Britain – Happiness is a cigar called Hamlet – hence “having a hamlet moment”

A hamlet moment is when everything seems to go wrong, and since there’s nothing you can do about it, you may as well light a cigar and watch all your problems vanish in a cloud of smoke.

Three new things to be grateful for:
Having a support group to throw ideas at – where there’s no hidden agendas
Being able to pluck a fresh lemon from our lemon tree
Finding our clothes are too big which means we’ve lost excess weight.

Today we received our merchant facilities machine so clients can find it easier to make payments.

Spoke to a bookkeeper in Nairobi, Kenya on Skype. Looks like we’ll be able to help him grow his business

C07 Having A Laugh

Yesterday we spoke to a young comedian who was ” justifying” that swearing was an important ingredient in comedy.

It’s used to shock the audience – apparently!

When used in every sentence there seems little of the shock factor left.

Maybe comedians these days lack an adequate vocabulary or have no command of the english language.

We were reminded about an Abbott and Costello skit – “Who’s on First

Real Comedy.

No sexual references, genitalia, or bad language

Here’s a new challenge to contemporary Australian “comedians”: create a funny skit without any of the above.

We have some beautiful roses flowering in our garden today.

A couple of lorakeets were splashing in the birdbath.

We watched “Soul Surfer” last night. We are blessed to have all our limbs.

Spoke to a potential client this morning – she really needs our help.

Had a personal training session this afternoon. Fighting the lethargy and struggling to put on a positive face

Still hunting to find some time in meditation

Unless we are out in a shopping, or such like just wondering how we perform a random act of Kindness

C06 Random Acts Of Kindness

By definition shouldn’t random acts of kindness be just that – random?

Generally they would refer to people that you don’t know otherwise how can it be random?

Today we attended our monthly mastermind group, taking a lunchbreak at  the local Indian Restaurant.

Since we steered the group of 11, does it count as a”random ” act of bringing in business to the  Indian restaurant?

Don’t think so.

Three things to be grateful for?
The beautiful autumn day. Having fresh passion fruit that have dropped off the vine.
Being able to pick fresh herbs for a nice cup of herbal tea.
